TOM VLASIC, AICP
Mr. Vlasic is
thoroughly conversant with the requirements for local planning in California and advises
planning commissions and city councils on a variety of planning matters. He
provides technical advice to public agencies on hillside and flatland
residential development, sign ordinances, downtown land use and urban design
problems, large scale mixed-use development, commercial and industrial
projects, and use of surplus school lands and facilities.
Mr. Vlasic has prepared and
administered general plans and land use regulations. As a representative of
Spangle Associates, he served as the director of planning for the City of Belmont.
Currently, Mr. Vlasic serves as Deputy Town Planner for the Town of
Portola Valley. He carries out a variety of tasks for the town, including
staffing the Architectural and Site Control Commission which reviews all
significant development proposals.
Mr. Vlasic has also assisted
citizens’ groups and private developers in preparing and processing land use
proposals. He has advised public and
private clients regarding legal challenges to land use plans and regulations,
as well as the use of citizens’ initiatives and referendums.
